A conniving Jaggan (Prem Chopra) convinces Kishan (Amol Palekar) that his wife, Shanti (Rakhee Gulzar), is having an affair with his brother Shambhu (Rajesh Khanna). This is the story of an Indian woman who has to pass a series of trials and tribulations to prove her innocence, which just might threaten to spoil all relationships.
