Ganga (Padma Khanna) and Paro (Madhu Kapoor) are sisters. Ganga is mute and meek since birth and refrains from mingling with people. Paro, meanwhile, is in love with Shankar (Arun Govil). But the village chief, Dharmdas (Shakti Kapoor) assaults Ganga and gets her impregnated. Paro finds no other way to save her sister but to sacrifice her love. She asks Shankar to marry Ganga and save her honour. Will Shankar agree to this proposal? Watch what happens when Paro's plan backfires.
