Amar Singh (Alok Nath) is a hardworking farmer in rural India living modestly with his wife and son, Vikraanta (Sanjay Dutt). His excellent work in sugarcane production wins him a renowned government award and a tractor as a reward. His success and refusal to take bribe in a land dispute doesn't sit well with his landlord, Thakur Singh (Amrish Puri) who callously assassinates him. Vikraanta (Sanjay Dutt) seeks justice from the police who do not heed his request. Ultimately, he takes matters into his own hands and sets out to settle the score.
