Two brothers agree to get their young sister, Madhu (Madhuri Dixit) married to Raja (Sanjay Khan), the son of a rich family friend named Brijnath (Paresh Rawal). But Brijnath loses his riches in the blink of an eye when a massive fire breaks out in his factory. It is then that the brothers sever all ties with Brijnath and his son. Upon growing up, however, Madhu unwittingly falls in love with a grown-up Raja, unaware of their family enmity. When her brothers find out, they go berserk and arrange her marriage with someone else. But on the day of her wedding, Madhu announces and fiercely defends her love for Raja, only to invite her family's wrath. Will the star-crossed lovers find their happy ending?
