Vikram (Amjad Khan) has prospered in a life of crime and lives a self-indulgent lifestyle. When Durga (Nirupa Roy), his wife gives birth to twins, he not only repudiates the children but leaves his wife. One of the twins, Amit (Amitabh Bachchan) is stolen by Vikram's arch rival and is brought up by a petty bootlegger. Kishan (Shashi Kapoor), the other twin is raised by Durga to become a responsible law enforcer. Vikram is not aware of his two sons and wife being alive. The plot thickens when Vikram hires Amit to kill Kishan. What will happen when the family members finally confront each other? Will circumstances lead to a brother going after a brother?
