Vikat captures a mother’s fight against the monsters that humans have embraced in the name of devotion.The film focuses on devotion vs destruction of the ten day festival, beginning on the birthday of Lord Ganesh. The festival which started as an effort to celebrate Lord Ganesha and unification of people during India’s freedom struggle results in enormous water pollution caused by Plaster of Paris (PoP) statute’s plastic decorations, camphor etc during the Ganesh Visarjan. Symbolically, it is up to the family to decide when and how they want to give Lord Ganesh the farewell & Vikat is a story of one such family.
